Candidate Squad Team USA Basketball 2012 Olympics-Special Sports Edition.
Coach Jerry Colangelo as the United States men's basketball team, has announced the 20 names of players who are eligible to participate in selection of the 2012 London Olympics.


According Slamonline.com, Colangelo has announced 20 names on Monday (16 / 1). Eight players of whom is a USA player at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, plus the 10 players who played in the World Basketball Championship 2010, and there are two newcomers.

USA basketball team successfully won the gold medal in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Earlier, at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, the team reinforced by Dwyane Wade and LeBron James was only able to grab the bronze medal lost because of Argentina in the semifinals.

This announcement sooner than previously scheduled. Colangelo originally planned to announce the USA player roster on Wednesday (18 / 1), but finally moved forward.

After that Colangelo will submit these names to the United States Olympic Committee at the end of January. Then on June 18, the 20 players it will be reduced to 12. The 12 players that are eligible to go to London on 27 July.

"There are many considerations before we reduce the team to 12 players, and the good news is we have to deal with 18 players now," Colangelo said again. "And I think in this group, we have a lot of flexibility and we will make the best decision for the month of June."
